Motorcycle Touring Association Ontario Chapter 1

Are you looking to expand your horizons beyond an Owners Group? Well, you have an alternative. We are the Motorcycle Touring Association or the MTA. Not only are we riders, but we are travelers, because touring is our middle name. Our trips vary from short, local, fun rides, to day or weekend rides, to special locations, to trips across this great country of ours. And when we say country, we mean any country we are in the United States , Canada , Mexico , or Europe as we are also an international organization.

An organization that accepts all brands and makes of motorcycles. Our focus is on people that like to ride and tour, not on what they ride! Our common bond is our genuine love of riding and we believe that no one should be restricted to any one bike.

We have experienced the entire spectrum of a motorcycle club. From our beginning in 1983 as the elite owners' group of the Yamaha Venture, we have now evolved into an organization that believes that it doesn't matter what you ride as long as you want to ride.

An Organization of Friends : Our motto is Riding with Friends. This is where our history of having and establishing groups of friends together into chapters is a great benefit. This allows us a chance to share what we have learned, from working on our bikes, to favorite trips and destinations, to safety and riding tips we have gathered from our many years of riding and traveling.

If you are not fortunate enough to be close to an active chapter to participate in their activities, you can gather five of your friends and associates and start your own chapter. From here you can gather more friends to share experiences with and reap the real rewards of belonging to a chapter.

A Diverse Group of Riders : We are young and old, male and female, couples and singles.

Our members are from all walks of life and ride every brand and type of motorcycle. We have been an AMA chartered club since 1985 and our annual rally, MTA Gathering, held every June, is usually a Dunlop Elite Touring Series event.

Emphasis on Safety : Motorcycle safety is also of prime concern to us and we support and promote the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and their various training programs.

Announcements : NEWS: Niagara Falls Rally

Announcements
Calling All Bikers to Niagara Falls Weekend Event Hopes to Draw Thousands of Bikers from Across North America (Niagara Falls, ON) June 1 – What do the Daytona and Sturgis Motorcycle Rallies have in common? They’re not home to a 56-kilometre stretch of picturesque open road via the Niagara Parkway, and to top it off, the majestic Niagara Falls. Organizers of this first-ever Motorcycle Rally are hoping that these attributes will bring together bikers and motorcycles from across North America, to the first-ever event of its kind in the honeymoon capital from June 18 to 20, 2010. North America’s largest motorcycle parade will be the cap-off of this three day-event in support of Women’s Place of South Niagara. “Although this will be the first time Niagara Falls will host a Motorcycle Rally of this size, we’re confident bikers from across North America will make the trek here to take part in this weekend event in support of a great cause,” said Sue McDowell, Executive Director of the Fallsview BIA. “We’re home to one of the most beautiful and picturesque Parkways in the world, and with Niagara Falls as our backdrop, we think we have the perfect mix for bikers and motorcycle enthusiasts alike to take part in an event that will create memories for many years to come,” she added. The three-day extravaganza will end in style on June 20, 2010 with what organizers are hoping to coin as North America’s largest motorcycle parade. The parade will begin at Rapidsview Parking Lot and Welcome Centre then travel north along the picturesque Niagara Parkway to historic Queenston Heights Park, and will then return to Falls Parking Lot at the famous Table Rock Welcome Centre, which is located at the brink of the Horseshoe Falls. Those interested in taking part in the parade are asked to meet at Rapidsview Parking Lot and Welcome Centre, 7369 Niagara Parkway, Niagara Falls, ON (entrance located directly across from the Marineland Parking Lot entrance at the corner of Upper Rapids Blvd) no later than 10:00 a.m. for registration. The ride fee will be a minimum donation of $5.00 per person for Women’s Place of South Niagara. “What better way to end a great weekend event than with a parade in support of an amazing charity such as Women’s Place of South Niagara. Our goal is to attract thousands of bikes to the City, so we’re encouraging bikers and motorcycle enthusiasts alike to come on down to Niagara Falls and take part in this special three-day event,” added McDowell. Various events around the City will be part of this three-day event including a Miller Chill Beer Dance Party and a live radio remote. Musical acts have also been booked at various restaurants and bars across Niagara Falls. A full detailed listing of participating hotels and events can be found by visiting: www.niagarafallsbikers.com The event is sponsored by the Fallsview Business Improvement Area www.fallsviewboulevard.com and The Niagara Parks Commission, in association with the Niagara Parks Police, who will assist with the Parade. www.fallsviewboulevard.com Contact: Sue McDowell, Executive Director Fallsview BIA Phone: (905) 358-7137 Email: suemcdowell@fallsviewboulevard.com
